Tradelink, a data provider of Commercial Data Interchange (CDI) and a member of the Expert Panel on Project Cargox, was honoured to be invited by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) to participate in the Data Summit 2025 on July 28, 2025, showcasing how our Next-Gen Trade Service Platform, T+, empowers the trading community in Hong Kong and their business partners to conduct trade data interchange securely. This enables small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to leverage authenticated and reliable trade data for trade financing and more.
Themed "Empowering business and trade through advanced data infrastructure", the Summit attracted around 800 senior executives and industry professionals from almost 100 public and private organisations, including government departments, banks, data specialists and partners of CDI. It explored how data infrastructure can enhance trade finance processes and facilitate SME lending. Tradelink has been providing Government Electronic Trading Services to the Hong Kong import & export trade and logistics community for over three decades, successfully enabling more than a thousand customers to utilise alternative data for trade financing. Furthermore, with our qualifications and expertise in digital identity, we proudly enable local and overseas businesses to obtain a government-certified Hong Kong corporate digital identity remotely for secure and compliant trade transactions.

Our Executive Director and Chief Operations Officer, Mr. Andrew Cheng, participated in a panel discussion titled "Unlocking Trade Finance Value through Cargo Data". Alongside representatives from the Transport and Logistics Bureau, Airport Authority Hong Kong, HSBC and moderated by KPMG, Tradelink shared the pain points of SMEs in trade financing, including their difficulties in storing and retrieving trade data, the time and effort required in providing authenticated and format-compatible trade data. Public-Private-Partnership, like CDI and Project Cargox provides a secure and neutral platform for the use and exchange of sensitive commercial data, facilitating innovations in terms of trade financing products.
Through our Next-Gen Trade Service Platform and our involvement in the CDI and Project Cargox, we aim to support and enhance Hong Kong's status as an international trade and finance center. Our vision is to empower the trading community to exchange data with their business counterparts (e.g. the financial sector) in a truly secure, cost-effective and frictionless manner.
