(6 DECEMBER 2004, HONG KONG) With the launch of a recent co-operation
between Shanghai Commercial Bank Limited (SCB) and Digi-Sign Certification
Services Limited (Digi-Sign), customers using the Corporate Internet
Banking (CIB) provided by the bank can make use of the Co-branded
digital certificates, Digi-Sign SCB Personal Premium Certificate
(P-Cert) to conduct banking transactions online at any time, anywhere,
securely and efficiently.
The adoption of P-Cert helps expanding the geographic coverage
of service and the customer base of CIB. Now, not only customers
in Hong Kong but also overseas customers can enjoy the convenient
service. Through CIB, companies can perform various banking transactions
such as Trade financing, Money transfer, Cash management, Payroll
& MPF submission, Exchange rate enquiry/booking etc.
For maximum protection, CIB has been incorporated with highest
Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) security standard. The P-Cert issued
by Digi-Sign, one of the components of PKI technology, can be used
to authenticate a wide range of financial transactions online. Together
with CIB, financial management becomes a simple and convenient task.
Customers of CIB can now complete banking transactions online with
just a few clicks at the fingertips.
In 2002, SCB's CIB won the IT Excellence Award presented by the
Hong Kong Computer Society and the panel of judges stated that SCB
is the first bank in Hong Kong to offer a full range of trade finance
functions on the internet. The Partnership between SCB and Digi-Sign
brings together the expertise of the two great organisations to
further enhance the services in the areas of service offerings and
internet security.
Ms. Emily Chung, Chairman of Digi-Sign Certification Services Limited
and Tradelink's Deputy Chief Executive Officer, said, "Our
partnership with SCB provides the infrastructure necessary to enable
customers to conduct secure online financial transactions. We are
also delighted to see that, with the use of Digi-Sign's certificate,
SCB is able to extend its CIB services beyond HK.
